So you’re interested in Fastin XR–the new and”pumped up” version of the original stimulant Fastin, eh?  Well, this seems to be a really new product because as of September 2011, Fastin XR is still not available on Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals website.  Hmmm…

What’s interesting though, is other companies are selling it–for exorbitant prices!!!  I’m thinkin’ it’s probably on back order if you do order it.  Nothing like paying and waiting…

Is Fastin XR worth the hassle?

Well, I couldn’t find any testimonials on Fastin XR–yet.  But if it’s brand new then that would make sense. 

But here’s what “Gretchen’ had to say about original Fastin-”Does not work. This product was expensive and I didn’t feel different at all. Waste of money. I didn’t even lose ONE pound!!”

This is the only review I could find outside of the official website.  Never trust official website testimonials.  They’re more fake than Beverly Hill’s boobs.

Wow–those are some pretty beefy claims.  But is there really anything under Fastin XR’s bun?  Let’s look at the ingredients.

Ingredients in Fastin XR

Fastin-XR consists:

• Caffeine Anhydrous 150 mg-dehydrated caffeine.  150 mg isn’t that much folks.  You’ll get the kick of a couple of cups of coffee–followed by a crash later.  Caffeine is effective for a boost of energy and short-term metabolic increase. 

 A 375 mg extended release proprietary blend containing:  

• Acacia Ridudula Extract-a plant that purportedly reduces stored fat, increases lean muscle and improves joint mobility. It’s more commonly used to treat infections and inflammation.  It’s not without side effects either including negative reactions to mood and symptoms associated with allergies.
• Synephrine HCl-a really good ingredient that mimics Ephedrine in that it raises metabolic rate, increases fat burning and improves mood–all without negatively effecting the cardiovascular and nervous systems.
• Theobromine-a natural form of caffeine that comes from cocoa.  It raises metabolic rate and improves mood, and can act as an appetite suppressant.  
• Green Tea-another excellent ingredient.  Green Tea is high in antioxidants, EGCG’s and natural caffeine and can raise metabolic rate and oxidise fat–while killing free radicals that cause disease and aging.
• DMAA-aka 1,3-dimethylamylamine. DMAA comes from the Geranium plant and mimics adrenaline.  As such it raises metabolic rate.  But as of right now there is no scientific evidence that backs it, despite its popularity in body building supplements.
• Naringen-a bitter compound from grapefruit thought to suppress appetite and cause fat burning.
• 5-methoxytryptamineHCl-aka “5-HT”.  5-HT is a mood lifter that’s also marketed as an energy stimulator.
• Yohimbine HCl-a fat burner that’s supposed to target stubborn, ‘hard to reach’ areas like the abs and thighs. 

I am not a fan of blends.  They may sound good but they actually ‘hide what’s inside’.  You’re usually getting ineffective quantities of the more expensive ingredients that work, and lots of the cheaper, crappier ones.  Sad but true.  And 375 mg is a LOW blend dose.  When you consider most ingredients require at least 100-400 mgs EACH to be effective, this blend isn’t going to do much at all.

Does Fastin XR Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

The official website does not offer a money-back guarantee despite information to the contrary.  You can order directly from Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals but I wouldn’t recommend it.  Products from the official site are always more expensive, and without a refund–why bother?

Final Thoughts

Fastin XR has a lot of blown-up claims for a low dose, high-stimulant formula.  While some of the ingredients are decent (Synephrine, Green Tea and DMAA), in a 375 mg blend you’re not getting anywhere near enough to get the job done. 

I can imagine the most this formula will do is make your heart race a little faster and give you some side effects common with stimulants (the jitters, restlessness etc.)  I can’t see it increasing thermogenesis (fat burning) or suppressing the appetite. 

I wouldn’t purchase Fastin XR for $60, let alone spending over $100!

This product is more “bun” than beef–sorry.

Look instead for a product that contains six or more clinically proven weight loss ingredients IN THEIR CORRECT DOSAGE, and a money-back guarantee.
