Optislim Soup Reviews
I could find no reviews for Optislim’s soups. But then again soup it is just–‘soup.’ I can’t say I’ve ever got really excited about it. Certainly not enough to write a poem, sonnet–or review!
I did find this review on Optislim products in general:
“This is my 2nd day on Optislim VLCD replacing 3 meals a day & also eating 2 cups of vegetables, 1 piece of fruit and drinking the 2 liters of water. I’m really hungry today hope I stop feeling hungry soon. I don’t want to give in.”
Poor lady. Why so hungry? I’ll tell you.
Australian company Optislim has designed their line of VLCD products with this simple precept in mind-they’re VLCD “VERY LOW CALORIE” (DIET.)
Pre-packaged foods are not a new idea, but they are popular for people with time constraints–or those who want the efficiency of being able to open a packet and eat without worry about what to prepare.
Optislim offers their soup in Creamy Chicken, Pumpkin or Tomato variety. They are designed to completely replace a meal and are only around 200-250 calories each. Here is what Optislim has to say about them:
- Nutritionally Complete
- Delicious flavours and taste
- 3 Varieties Creamy Chicken, Pumpkin & Tomato
- Can be used in conjunction with Optislim® VLCD Shakes and Bars
- 7 sachets per pack
- Australian Made
There’s three ways to lose weight with Optislim. You choose one of three aggressive weight loss programs depending on how quickly you want to lose–and how much money you wish to part with! Here are the programs:
ACCELERATED PROGRAM: you will replace all three meals per day on this program with Optislim low calorie soups, meal bars and shakes–consuming only 800 calories or less a day. YIKES.
RAPID PROGRAM: you will replace two out of three meals per day on this program with Optislim low calorie soups, meal bars and shakes–eating one healthy, balanced meal and consuming only 1000 calories or less a day. (Still yikes.)
BALANCED PROGRAM: you will replace only one out of three meals per day on this program with Optislim low calorie soups, meal bars and shakes–eating two healthy, balanced meals andconsuming around 1300-1500 calories a day. (This is still low–but much healthier.)
Ingredients in Optislim Soup
Unfortunately Optislim ‘opts’ to not tell you what’s in their product line, including the soups. They do say:
“The Optislim® VLCD Soups contain all of your daily nutritional requirements, including 25 vitamins and minerals, when you use 3 sachets per day. We recommend use in conjunction with Optislim® VLCD Shakes and Bars.”
I’d like to judge this for myself–but without the label information I can’t. BOO!
Does Optislim Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?
They do not. And contact information is long distance. If you invest in Optislim products, you’re stuck with them. As such I would shop around for the best price (they cost $18.90 for one box of 7 sachets on the official site) and don’t buy in bulk until you know the program is something you can healthily sustain without losing your mind!
Final Thoughts
I am not a fan of diet programs like this one. It’s a starvation diet pure and simple. Optislim states you’ll meet all your nutritional requirements if you consume ’3 sachets a day’ of their product, but is it really enough? They also want to ensure you have a full check-up with your doctor before you start their program–and get medically monitored throughout. And I would think so!
Just remember, your body will hold onto fat if it thinks it’s in ‘starvation mode.’ So I really don’t know how effective the Optislim program would be long-term. And I can guarantee you’ll get tired of shakes, meal bars and soups after a few weeks.
Also consider expense. The soups are almost $20 for a box that’ll last only one week if you consume one a day. The shakes are $35 for a week’s supply. The bars are $18. The Optislim diet is going to get expensive really fast.
And why buy a product that is not backed with a money-back guarantee? A lack of refund means a lack of company confidence in their product.
Bottom line you’re far better off investing in eating healthily, exercising daily and buying a fat burner full of clinically proven and tested ingredients.
Diets like this are faddish and won’t sustain you for long.
